Description
Crisp, light and fruity with a refreshing finish. Awards Fruit Vidal Blanc is a French-American hybrid grape variety. It is quite tough-skinned and disease resistant. Winter hardy but requires a long growing season. Vidal Blanc is a popular grape here in New England as well as upstate New York and Ontario. Winemaking The grapes are whole cluster pressed and the juice is settled overnight. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with Lalvin 71B yeast to accentuate the fruit and reduce the acidity. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, cold stabilized, then bottled with about 1% residual reducing sugar. Aging This crisp, light wine is ready to drink soon after bottling and ages well for 1-3 years. Food Pairings and Serving Suggestions Good for sipping, or with grilled seafood, chicken or pasta.
